Hello New Friends!!
My name is Jessica Motes and I am the proud Founder and Lead Baker of The Naughty Cookie. If you read Our Story, then you already know how The Naughty Cookie came to life or at least have an idea of how my dream to supply only the best vegan cookies led The Naughty Cookie to where it is today!
While in fact, it did start with my dream of one day owning a vegan cookie company because let's be real I love cookies even more than I love cake, having a dream is one thing but bringing that dream to life is a whole other thing. So friends, I'm about to let you in on what it takes to turn your business from a dream to reality.
You must know that I live and breathe vegan cookies 24/7. I sacrificed a lot to get The Naughty Cookie to where it is today. I moved from my hometown of Miami to Los Angeles in order to really immerse myself in the vegan food industry, when it was just coming up. While doing so I noticed a lack of delicious vegan cookies as I kept running into not so great vegan cookies, you know what I mean, the ones that crumble upon taking a bite, the ones that lack in flavor and texture, or the ones that look "instagrammable" because they are so stuffed with other ingredients but with one bite you already feel a stomach ache coming on... yup, I've been there! All this market research made me realize there was a lack of classic, great quality vegan cookies. Which brings me to how The Naughty Cookie came about.
After much extensive research on wholesome ingredients, I rolled up my sleeves and started creating what would become The Naughty Cookie's signature dough. It took plenty of trials because let's face it baking is a science and I am no chemist, I like to think I have a PH-D in great tastebuds though! Fast-Forward 6 months and it turns out with enough determination and passion for baking (and sleepless nights) the perfect vegan cookie was created! Once the cookies met up to my high standards I had some of my friends who weren't vegan taste test the cookies and all they would say is how delicious the cookies are and how they are the best cookies they've ever had, then I drop those two words "they're vegan!" and my friends couldn't believe it, EUREKA!! Now we all know friends can be extra nice when it comes to trying to receive honest feedback, so my next challenge was to find a way I can get a group of people who aren't vegan that doesn't have a personal connection to me to taste test the cookies.
